eRepublik is a massively multiplayer social interactive simulated virtual world where communities of people are given the reigns of real life countries. The goal of the game is to simply exist, to protect your country with fellow countrymen and to establish culture, military, politics, and the likes. It's a relatively addicting game, and many people play it for a number of reasons. Some play it to see where their political path leads them, others play it to become legendary fighting forces within the military; others simply play it for the community and roleplay atmosphere. Though some countries in the game aren't as roleplay friendly, the only way to build up a countries culture is through a roleplay atmosphere, and the game is known to pull large numbers of people from various sites around the internet -- 4chan, reddit, hongfire, etc. It's a pretty cool game for those who take the time to get into it, and I've been playing it since 2009.
4chan's /v/ actually influenced the game the most, with their establishment of the Holy Empire of Pakistan that stretched over Pakistan, China, India, and influenced a bit of Malaysia, Japan, and South Korea. Of course due to the fact it's an international game, most communities are based around RL nationalities, which can often cause the game to become extremely serious due to RL nationality based on RL countries hating one another. However most tend to stick with it remaining just a game.
As the Minister of Interior this term for eJapan, I'm looking to see if I can get some interested new faces in the community of Japan. Currently the country is on a rocky road to recovery after a war with the Republic of China (Taiwan), whom has become a bit of a dictator and tyrant in East Asia. Japan has never really been large enough to defend itself due to it's positioning on the map (and most RL Japanese simply don't care too much for this game), so Japan is a multicultural community filled with people from the Americas and Europe, with a few from Asia. It's also a very big community on gaming, and as the Minister of Interior I am attempting to establish a large and firm roleplay community there.
If you're remotely interested, my skype is vigilantist, and my MSN is vigilants@live.com . I can assist you more in figuring out the game, or just tell you more about it in general. It's a community based game, and I just figured it would be cool for the animanga RP community to actually represent something on a more international scale the same way 4chan, SomethingAwful, and other big sites have done in the past. I'm not expecting much interest in this, however.
USE THIS LINK TO SIGN UP but if you do, be sure to add me first so I can help you out. If you don't add me though, reply here. Make sure to join Japan as well, and you can't change your name, so choose a name you won't regret!
